Testimonials about Ossipee Children's Fund
From a young girl OCF helped: "When I was diagnosed with diabetes I was really scared and didn’t know how I was going to take care of myself. I thought there were only a couple of diabetic kids in the world. At Camp Carefree I learned that there are diabetic kids all over the world and that I am not alone."
From a single mother of a 3 year-old: "I am extremely thankful for your program. I have to work, so it benefits me as well as my daughter. She loves going to Ossipee Concerned Citizens Child Care Center. She has learned and grown so much and continues to do so every day. I love to watch her interact and play with her friends. Her ability to enjoy the center, her teachers and friends gives me amazing peace of mind."
Twenty years ago a student at a local school won a full scholarship from the Colorado Outward Bound School for a 7 day long hiking trip into the Grand Canyon but his family could not afford his air fare to Arizona. OCF helped. Now he writes, ‘The experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity that is still, almost twenty years later, unparalleled and etched in my memory. I honestly believe that trip gave me the skills and confidence to endure this lifelong uphill battle that we call life. As I think of the sunsets, the beauty of the canyon, the magnitude of the achievement of navigating our way five thousand feet from the north rim to the river and then back up I can’t help but remember who got me there. I just wanted to take the time to say thank you.’
"Our family is so grateful to have received the grants from this fund [for snowboarding and day camp]. We wish to extend a huge thanks to everyone who is involved with the OCF. It’s a wonderful thing to see a child’s eyes light up in excitement when they know they’ll be able to participate in activities with their friends. We would also like to bless all those wonderful, caring souls who donate to the fund. Without you, all these children, including mine, would be heartbroken season after season because less fortunate parent(s) aren’t able to give that extra inch of happiness you provide. Thank all of you. God bless! Live, love and keep giving."
From a single mom earning $7.50 per hour, "I am trying to make it in the community and just need a little help doing that."
"… thank you for your generous contribution to our children’s’ karate program. Karate is a wonderful and structured experience for children. They learn that if they want to earn that next belt, they need to pay attention, be respectful, and try their best. Best of all they love it. If it were not for the Ossipee Children’s Fund, our children would not be able to enjoy participation is such a rich cultural experience. Karate has strengthened their minds, their bodies, and their spirits."
From a grandparent: "Thank you for all you do. Your organization truly helps to make a difference in children's lives. My granddaughter has been able to attend O.C.C. Childcare Center and Preschool program since 2016, including extended learning."
